Jamey Aebersold

Jamey Aebersold, Founder, Owner

Jamey Aebersold is the recipient of the 2014 A.B. Spellman NEA Jazz Masters Award for Jazz Advocacy, bestowed upon an individual who has contributed significantly to the appreciation, knowledge, and advancement of jazz.

For over 50 years, Jamey Aebersold has been the leader in Jazz Improvisation and Education. Jamey has taught at three colleges and universities and has made guest appearances around the world. He has produced a best-selling DVD on jazz improvisation. Jamey's hobby is listening to jazz, especially new, young players. He enjoys playing basketball (He once hit 53 free throws in a row, and 26 three pointers ) and is interested in Metaphysics and spiritual pursuits. Jamey is a driving force in Jazz, and continues to kindle the fires of musical imagination in those with whom he comes in contact.

Matt Eve

Matt Eve, President

Matt has been working for Jamey Aebersold Jazz for 4 decades! He was an instructor for the Summer Jazz Workshops at the age of 20 and a faculty member of a Jefferson Community College for several years, teaching jazz improv, theory, and working with individual students. He knows more about our products than anyone else and is very knowledgeable about all aspects of jazz improvisation.

Matt has played sax with many well-known groups and personalities. Today, he is an active freelance musician a member of "The Rheingold Band."

Gigi Collier

Gigi Collier, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Marketing, Website Administration

Gigi has worked at Jamey Aebersold's since she was 15 (we won't divulge her current age - but suffice it to say she's been here a while). She is our resident multi-linguist as she speaks fluent French and Spanish. Gigi personally handles both retail and wholesale customer accounts as well as website administration and email marketing.

Gigi has a BA in Marketing from Indiana University and her hobbies include long-distance running, thrift-shopping and bargain hunting and spending time with her husband Dale and son Jesse.

Jason Lindsey

Jason Lindsey, Graphic Design, Website Development & Administration, Summer Jazz Workshop Administrator, Permissions Administrator

Jason has worked almost all aspects of this Jazz business. He started working for Jamey when he was 17 years old. Currently, he is our resident freelance graphic artist, which includes all advertising and print promotions, as well as graphic design for all of the Aebersold Publications. Additionally, he is the website developer of the both the Summer Jazz Workshops and Jazzbooks.com websites. Jason's other main duty is serving as the Summer Jazz Workshop Administrator.

Jason holds a BA from Indiana University and spends his free time with his wife and family. Other hobbies include playing music, photography, and woodworking. A little known fact about Jason is that he is a retired professional wrestler!

Kendall Carter

Kendall Carter, Order Processing, Shipping, Customer Service

Kendall has been associated with Jamey for many years. In 2019, Kendall started working here at jazzbooks.com. Outside of working here, he remains in demand on both piano and organ; and can often be seen with the Jamey Aebersold Quartet and throughtout the midwest with world renowned artists including Dave Stryker, Rob Dixon, Dan Wilson, and many others.

He is a graduate of the University of Louisville Jazz Studies Program where he received his Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance and his Master of Music in Composition and Arranging. Be sure to visit his website at www.kendallcartermusic.com
